Liberty Insurance Limited in Ireland (“Liberty”) is the registered data controller for personal information collected from you. Quinn-direct is the trading name of the UK branch of Liberty.
We will use the information subject to data protection laws for various purposes. In summary, this includes but is not limited to managing and handling your insurance queries, underwriting and claims handling. We may use an anonymised form of it for various purposes. We may check the information against public sources (such as the electoral roll and court judgments bankruptcy or repossession and other insurance industry databases) and this may involve carrying out bankruptcy/judgment debt checks, fraud prevention, anti-money laundering and counter terrorism financing checks, subject to data protection law and with your consent if required. We may directly or indirectly share the information with other insurers, the police and other law-enforcement agencies, government agencies and/or regulatory authorities, as applicable. In addition, we may pass the information and claims history to agents, service providers, other Liberty Mutual Group companies, regulatory organisations, and to certain other third parties.
We share information with the Claims and Underwriting Exchange Register, run by Insurance Database Services Ltd (IDS Ltd) and the Motor Insurance Anti-Fraud and Theft Register, run by the Association of British Insurers (ABI). You must tell us about any incident (such as an accident or theft) which may lead to a claim. We will pass relevant details to the register. Your policy details will be added to the Motor Insurance Database (MID) managed by the Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB). MID may be used by certain government or other authorised organisations such as the police, the DVLA and the DVANI, the Insurance Fraud Bureau for various purposes.
We may contact you with a reminder that your insurance is due to be renewed. We will use the details you have given to us to provide you with information about our products and services and those of other Liberty Mutual Group companies and third parties whose products and services may be of interest to you but will not do so if you have already told us you do not want this information. We may also use your information for these purposes after your policy has come to an end unless you ask us not to.

In addition, each time we contact you electronically with marketing information or a marketing message, you have the option to decline to receive further marketing information from us to that email address or telephone number. This is known as an "opt-out".

By going ahead with a Liberty insurance quote or policy or by giving us personal information including sensitive personal information (as more particularly described in our Security and Privacy Statement) you will be explicitly agreeing to us, our agents, other insurers and the other persons described in this notice (and/or in the Security and Privacy Statement) processing it for all relevant purposes.
